Whatever happened to dancing in front of your partner when you danced? Nowadays clubs are filled with nothing but bump and grind(dry humping). What happened to the style? What happened to practicing in front of the mirror for days just to get ready for that certain Friday night.

This scene is from the legendary film “Beat Street” which showcased a battle between pioneering bboy crews “The Rock Steady Crew” and the “NYC Breakers.” Rock Steady, one of the first Bboy crew to become an almost household name made history in 1982 when  they went at it at NYC’s Lincoln Center battlin’ the “Dynamic Rockers” which had coverage from National Geographic ultimately launching the “Break Dance” craze with the help of other films such as Flashdance, Breakin’ and Wildstyle.

From the writers, to the emcee’s and the DJ’s…the bboys were the first to be covered launching the culture into the media and public eye and the beginnings of what is now a Billion dollar Industry.
